This past Tuesday, July 15th, our CEO, Carol Young, had the privilege of representing Healing Strides and speaking at the Annual Summer Soiree and Bipartisan Tribute honoring those who serve, held at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C. This powerful event brought together national leaders, changemakers and supporters of our Veteran community and we were deeply honored to be part of the conversation.

We were especially grateful for the chance to personally thank the Honorable Doug Collins, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, for his public acknowledgment of the critical role that non profits play in serving our Veterans, which he recently shared on a podcast with Sean Ryan. His openness to engaging non profits at the table is meaningful and Carol's words of gratitude were heartfelt and well received.

Carol also had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Morgan Griffith and Legislative Aide, Jackson Kreug, to share about the impact of Equine-Assisted programs in the lives of Veterans facing challenges.

Among the distinguished guests and sponsors, Healing Strides was proudly listed alongside Horses for Mental Health, whose introduction to Kirsten Fedewa made this incredible opportunity possible. Without these connections, we would be unable to reach more Veterans in need, so thank you, Kirsten, for your generosity, hospitality and belief in our mission!

The evening was hosted by none other than Kevin Corke, National Correspondent with Fox News and featured a moving performance by Anthony Kearns of The Irish Tenors. During Carol’s speech, she was able to share one of our Veteran’s powerful stories, showing the true impact Equine-Assisted Services can have on a life and a reminder of why we do this work.

At Healing Strides we are committed to standing alongside those who have served, offering a place of hope, healing, connection and renewed purpose through our Equine-Assisted programs. Events like this remind us that when we bring non profits, leaders and Veterans together, real change is possible.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and building lasting partnerships in support of our nation's heroes.
